Andrew Lichtenberger, also known as LuckyChewy, is an American professional poker player and is one of poker’s most-talented tournament grinders. He was born in East Northport, NewYork, on September 20, 1987 and is best known for obtaining high rankings and big winnings at major live poker events such as World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour. He currently has a Total Live Earnings of over $15,000,000 and a Best Live Cash of $1,770,692, which he won in December 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after taking first place in the World Poker Tour’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
As a young man, Andrew Lichtenberger participated in bowling competitions and even held a job at a bowling alley. At the age of 18, he started playing online poker while enrolled at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He played for almost a year before dropping out of school and made the decision to pursue a career in poker.
After participating in cash games, he went on to multi-table tournaments and became successful. In 2007, he entered a live competition for the first time. Andrew Lictenberger has also written a book “The Yoga of Poker”
Lichtenberger began his poker career in November 2007. He took part in the Super Stack Hold’em Series in Verona, where he came in sixth. He won $3,693. A year later, he played in two tournaments back-to-back in March 2008, the 2008 March Madness in Verona and the East Coast Poker Championships in Verona, where he placed 16th and 12th, respectively. He successively won $443 and $406.
He has been playing poker for some time, and 2010 has been a very lucky year for him as he has placed first three times in a row. The first time was in April 2010, when he won his first significant prize in the WSOPC Caesars Palace event on the WSOP Circuit in Las Vegas. He took home a massive $190,137.
Lichtenberger also participated in the European Poker Tour Madrid Grand Final in May 2011, in Madrid. He took home a whopping $103,896.
In December 2014, he made history by taking first place at the World Poker Tour’s Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas. For a total of $1,770,6932, his highest score to date.
Lichtenberger also finished first in both events in Aria High Roller 9 and 10 in Las Vegas in May 2015 and July 2015. He won a grand prize of $398,160 and $432,980 respectively.
Andrew took part in the PokerGO Tour in September 2023 Poker Masters in Las Vegas and finished 7th winning $43,500.
Andrew is still actively competing in major poker tournaments. He made his last appearance during the PokerGO Tour 2023 Poker Masters in Las Vegas in September 2023. He earned $18,200 and finished in 13th position. Andrew is also listed as 7th in New York, USA All Time Money List.
