Ali Sarkeshik’s poker career began in January 1993 when he entered a £300 Texas Hold’em tournament at the Grosvenor Spring Classic in London. There, he finished in 8th place and earned $463.
In May 1999, he took a significant step by participating in the 30th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. In this event, he placed 3rd in a $5,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament, earning $55,000.
Following this success, in January 2000, Sarkeshik entered the Carnivale of Poker III, a $1,000 + 60 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament in Las Vegas. He finished 2nd and cashed $35,200.
Continuing his journey, in May 2001, he competed in a $2,500 + 100 Omaha (pot limit) event at the 32nd WSOP in Las Vegas. Here, he again achieved 3rd place and earned $44,620.
In February 2004, Sarkeshik marked another milestone by winning a $500 + 40 Pot Limit Omaha tournament at the Poker Classic in Los Angeles, taking home $37,800.
Later that year, in July 2004, he celebrated another victory by winning a €5,000 Limit Hold’em tournament at Rendez Vous a Paris in Paris, cashing out $72,305.
In March 2008, he further showcased his skills by competing in a $2,000 + 80 No Limit Hold’em event at The Wynn Classic in Las Vegas. He finished 2nd and earned $48,500.
Most recently, in July 2024, he participated in the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Goliath in Coventry. He entered a £160 + 40 No Limit Hold’em event, where he placed 854th and cashed $578.
