Alexander Kravchenko, a professional poker player from Moscow, Russia, began his poker journey in 1998. Over the years, he honed his skills and achieved remarkable success in live tournaments, accumulating over $4.3 million in earnings. Notably, his best cash came in July 2007 when he finished in 4th place at the 38th World Series of Poker (WSOP), earning $1,852,721.
In addition to his poker career, Kravchenko is a businessman and a former citizen of the USSR. Alexander Kravchenko started his career by investing in different businesses. Eventually, he became interested in the casinos in Moscow, looking for better ways to earn money. He began by playing blackjack, which helped him learn the rules and strategies of casino games.
In the late 1990s, he discovered the big money available in Hold’em tournaments, known for their large cash prizes. This encouraged him to take part in these tournaments, starting his journey into the world of competitive poker. After years of practice and improvement, Kravchenko reached an important moment in his career when he entered the World Series of Poker in 2007, marking a key step in his poker adventure.
Alexander Kravchenko’s first recorded live cash occurred in December 1999, he placed third in a $500 Limit Seven Card Stud event at the Moscow International in Moscow, earning $4,000.
Then, in June 2007, he won first place in the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better at the 38th World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, which awarded him $228,446 and a WSOP bracelet.
Shortly thereafter, he finished fourth in the $10,000 World Championship No Limit Hold’em at the same WSOP, cashing in $1,852,721.
Following this success, in October 2008, he secured second place in a €4,000 No Limit Hold’em event at the Casinos Austria Poker Tour in Baden, earning $171,631.
In April 2010, he continued to excel by winning the €1,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em / Pot Limit Omaha event at the European Poker Tour in Sanremo, taking home $95,105.
Furthermore, in March 2011, he finished second in the $2,750 + 250 No Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Russian Poker Series, presented by PokerStars in Kiev, earning $113,100.
Most recently, in August 2023, he placed 177th in the €1,000 + 100 No Limit Hold’em Main Event (Event #1) at the European Poker Tour in Barcelona, cashing $7,483.
