Alex Jacob is a former American professional poker player and “Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions” winner. Residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jacob has amassed over $2.6 million in live tournament earnings. His best live cash of $878,500 came in October 2006, when he claimed 1st place at the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City.

Alex Jacob: Early Life

Before becoming a poker player, Jacob excelled academically. He was the valedictorian of Deerfield Beach High School in 2002 and went on to graduate from Yale University in 2006 with a degree in economics and mathematics.

Shortly after completing his studies, Jacob made a remarkable entry into the poker world. In 2006, he won the United States World Poker Championship and finished as the runner-up at the World Poker Tour.

Alex Jacob: Live Tournament Participation

Alex Jacob recorded his first live cash in November 2005. He finished 27th in the $10,200 NLH event at the WPT World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. He earned $27,600 for his performance.

In April 2006, Jacob competed in the $10,000 Championship NLH event at the Foxwoods Poker Classic in Mashantucket, placing 2nd and earning $655,507.

His best live cash came in October 2006 when he won the $10,000 NLH Championship Event. They were at the United States Poker Championship in Atlantic City. He claimed 1st place and added $878,500 to his poker earnings.

In March 2007, Jacob secured another 1st-place finish in the $10,000 NLH Championship Event. There at the Ultimate Poker Challenge Championship in Las Vegas, he won $105,380.

In June 2007, he participated in the $1,500 NLH event at the 38th WSOP in Las Vegas, finishing 3rd and earning $282,367.

Jacob returned to the WSOP in June 2009, competing in the $1,500 NLH event at the 40th WSOP in Las Vegas. He placed 4th, adding $190,857 to his total winnings.

In his most recent tournament appearance, in April 2019, Jacob played the $400 NLH Monster Stack at the WSOP Circuit in Cherokee. He finished 182nd, earning $588.
