Alan Meltzer (1944-2011) was an American poker player and businessman. He co-founded Wind-up Records with his ex-wife, Diana Meltzer. Craft Recordings now releases Wind-Up’s reissues. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly on October 31st, 2011, at the age of 67, with the cause of death remaining undisclosed. Meltzer had also appeared on High Stakes Poker.

In his will, Meltzer bequeathed $1 million to Jean Laborde, his 54-year-old chauffeur and father of five, and $500,000 to Chamil Demiraj, his doorman who had worked at Meltzer’s Upper East Side apartment building for 15 years.
Meltzer’s wife Diana, a former model, and Alan divorced in 2010 after 13 years of marriage. Consequently, she received none of his $10 million fortune, as their divorce occurred a year before his death, and they had no children together.
