Adam Hendrix: Early Life

Adam Hendrix began playing poker actively in college. He hosted and played in $5 games in his dorm with his friends and fellow students. He went to Virginia Tech University, where he received a degree in economics with a minor in statistics.

In 2015, Hendrix graduated from college and relocated to the Washington, D.C., area, where he resided until the COVID-19 epidemic struck. During that period, he worked as a software engineer.

Adam began participating in the World Poker Tour, he finished third in the $450 + $50 No Limit Hold’em – Deep Stack Black Chip Bounty at the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City, earning $ 18,469 for his efforts. 

Hendrix has competed in a number of tournaments over the years. On June 23, 2017, he made his first six-figure score at the 48th World Series of Poker. He was defeated by Nathan Gamble in the $ 1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo (Event #46), but he still took home $ 137,992 for finishing second. In the same month, he competed in the 2017 Goliath Phamous Poker Series in Las Vegas. Hendrix took third place and earned $ 55,894. 

Adam Hendrix Wins His First Trophy

On June 21, 2019, Adam Hendrix won his first live tournament at the $ 1,025 + 75 No Limit Hold’em in The Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas, taking home a massive $ 75,402. 

Adam’s big break came in 2022, when he won both the Poker Masters and the US Poker Open. After defeating Jonathan Little heads-up in the March 2022 US Poker Open, he won $211,200. Adam Hendrix won the 2022 Poker Masters Event #4: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em in September 2022, defeating a 74-entry field to take home $192,400. Hendrix took the chip lead into the live-streamed final table and rode it to victory, defeating Nate Silver in heads-up action. 

Adam’s biggest live score took place on June 30, 2023, at the $ 50,000 Pot Limit Omaha – High Roller – 8-Handed event at the 54th World Series of Poker. He earned $570,671 after finishing fifth, breaking his previous high of $ 257,885 set at the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas.
