Popular Twitch streamer & online crusher Bert “Girafganger7” Stevens made history last night (3rd October 2023) by defeating a field of 6,023 runners in the WSOP $5k online main event on GGPoker. The Belgian Professional took home $2,783,433 & the coveted Main Event Bracelet, & also set a world record in the Process.
Stevens was joined by other notable pro’s on the Final table, such as Erik Bakker, Ramiro Petrone & Ezequiel Kleinman to name but a few.
Steven’s had a slight lead at the beginning of the FT against Dutch Pro Erik Bakker. It didn’t take long for Bert to run away with the chip lead having a significant lead over the rest of the table.
Ezequiel Kleinman a Pro from Uruguay earned his highest score by finishing 3rd for $1,524,214. Girafganger7 went heads up with close to a 4-1 lead against Yagen Li.
Both players were assured of winning over $2 million, but the gap between first and second place exceeded $750,000. Li from China had his chance to get back into the game when he was dealt A♣️Q♦️. On the button, Stevens raised it up to 10,500,000 with 6♣️6♦️, Li threw in a 3 bet to 30,000,000. Stevens, seeing his chance for glory jammed all in ,putting Li to the test for his tournament Life. Li made the call and Stevens Pocket 6’s prevailed on a K♠️3♦️K♦️4♠️5♥️ Board. Giving Bert and his thousands of Twitch viewers the sweet taste of success.
Girafganger7 Seemed unfazed throughout enjoying the music and fist pumping the air with jubilation as the Final table was whittled down. Will we see another FT of this nature again? there are not many players with the composure to be able to play and stream with the stakes so high, Bert Stevens is one chilled guy who allowed his twitch followers to be involved in which will most likely be the pinnacle of his career.
