Robbi at The Lodge
On a thrilling Friday night the 24th of February 2023 , The Lodge Live achieved a remarkable feat, crossing the 100,000 subscriber mark on YouTube. But that was just the beginning of the excitement, as the Texas poker room’s owner, Doug Polk, emerged victorious with an astounding sum of nearly $500,000.
The stakes started high at $200/$400 no-limit Hold’em, but as the night wore on and the drinks flowed, they soared to an astonishing $500/$1,000. The game featured a stacked lineup of renowned players, including Ben Lamb, Bill Perkins, Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Keith Tilston, and Robbi Jade Lew. Are you intrigued yet? Let’s delve deeper into this nail-biting game of skill and luck.
Robbi Jade Lew was one of the many players vying for a piece of the staggering $500/$1,000 pot. Despite playing in three consecutive live streams at The Lodge Card Club, she suffered an early setback, losing her first $60,000 bullet before rebuying for $40,000. Nevertheless, she fought back valiantly, narrowing her deficit to a mere $36,200 by the end of the session.
In one particular hand that had everyone at the edge of their seats, Robbi Jade Lew raised from an early position with seven of diamonds and seven of clubs. Keith Tilston, sitting in the small blind, called with queen of hearts and nine of diamonds, while Bill Perkins, in the straddle, called with ace of clubs and ten of clubs.
The flop was an action-packed one, with the ten of diamonds, king of diamonds, and seven of spades making an appearance. After a round of checking, Tilston hit his straight when the jack of hearts arrived, and he placed a bet of $5,000. Perkins, however, made an interesting raise to $15,000. Lew then went all in for $64,800 with her set, and Tilston, who had her covered, made the call. Perkins, of course, folded his pair. The two players agreed to run the hand twice for the massive $155,800 pot, but neither run-out paired the board, giving Tilston the entire pot.
Meanwhile, Bill Perkins, fresh off an appearance on this week’s High Stakes Poker episode, started with a $200,000 profit but ultimately settled for a respectable $88,000 win. Dan “Jungleman” Cates and Ben Lamb, on the other hand, had a forgettable Friday night, ending up as the two biggest losers in the game , with a combined loss of $566,000.
