21 years after winning the WSOP Main Event as an amateur poker player, Chris Moneymaker who revolutionized the game with his historic win in 2003, captured the attention of fans once again. This time, it was in ACR Poker’s highly anticipated $2.650 Venom. Which boasted an unprecedented $12.5 million guaranteed prize pool. This was the second time Moneymaker had made the final table of the Venom. Previously, it was before he joined ACR as a team pro. He went on to finish in a respectable 4th place.
Moneymaker’s journey through the tournament was nothing short of remarkable. As day 2 dawned, he found himself holding a top 10 stack alongside fellow ACR Pro Monika Zukowicz.
The excitement gathered momentum on day 3 when Moneymaker, now a seasoned veteran of the game, announced his intention to livestream his progress on the ACR Twitch channel. With a top 10 stack and $21,000 already secured, he was vying for the staggering $1.8 million top prize.
Amidst the intense competition on the felt, glimpses into Moneymaker’s personal life added a heartwarming touch to the proceedings. Viewers were treated to anecdotes about his passion for his pet dogs, and touching moments from his son, who phoned to ask how he was getting on.
As the tournament progressed, Moneymaker’s skill and composure were on full display. Despite the grueling nature of the three-day grind thus far, he remained undeterred. Navigating his way to the final table with a respectable stack of 58 big blinds.
Opting to forego streaming the final table, Moneymaker focused his attention squarely on the task at hand. However, fans were still treated to the action, thanks to a 30-minute delay broadcast with cards face up, featuring commentary from ACR host Justin Kelly and ACR Team Pro Michael Loncar.
In a nail-biting finish, Moneymaker ultimately secured a 6th place finish, earning a hefty payday of $382,007.
The final showdown was between Push0rdie who squared off against professional poker player and DTO Poker founder Dominik Nitsche, known online as Texxassss. Nitsche’s flopped two pair ultimately proved decisive vs Push0rdie’s top pair top kicker.
