A Table-Turning River

A Table-Turning River

In hand 86 of a $50/$100/$100 game on Poker At The Lodge, Alex felted EZ who was way out in front until the river turned the tables.

The action limped to Alex UTG+1 who opened the pot to $1,600 with A♠️K♠️ and $80,250 in his stack, followed by EZ in UTG+2 with $62,250 in his stack who made a 3-bet of $6,000 with 10♥️10♣️. All positions up till Alex folded and after a minute of tanking, he pushed all-in and EZ called. Heads-Up they went to a pot of $124,950.

The flop came 9♥️7♥️9♠️, giving EZ top pair and an over pair, while just top pair on the board for Alex, although his hopes would have been restored when the 2♠️ came out on the turn, putting him on the nut flush draw.

They saw the K♥️ on the river and although it wasn’t another spade for the flush, it was one of the two non-flush outs that Alex needed and he scooped $124,950 pot.
