What a Brutal Turn, Can Jamie Get away from Two Pair at Texas Card House?

Check out this hand that was played between Jamie & Ben at the Texas Card House in Houston. It was live streamed on their YouTube channel on the 16th November 2023. The blinds were set at $5/$10/$20.

Five players went to the flop with $230 in the middle. The action got checked to Ben ($2.5k) in the high-Jack who had flopped a set of fives having 55in his hand, on the 75Aboard. Ben bet out $105, this got a call from Duc ($4.8k) who had A6 for a pair of Aces. Matt ($3.6k) in the small blind had a double gutter with 43 and also made the call. In the Low-Jack was Jamie ($6.5k) who like Duc had a weak ace as well with A9he elected to call. Four players went to the turn with $650 in the middle.

Can Jamie escape his Turned Two Pair?

the turn was an action card for sure, the 9, gave Jamie top two on the board. Once again the action was checked over to Ben, this time he put out a hefty bet of $355. This got Duc to fold his weak ace, and Matt folded his double gutter ball. Having turned top two, Jamie played the hand cautiously by just calling. To the river they went with $1,360 in the pot.

The river was a safe looking card for Ben, the Q. Having been checked to for the third time, Ben jammed all in for his remaining $2k. After a long stare down Jamie did eventually make the call, and received the bad news. the set of five’s was tabled and Ben took down the sizeable $5,350 pot.
