Let’s look at this hand that was played between Armenian Mike & Ju. The action was live-streamed on Bally Live Poker’s YouTube channel on the 28th of April 2024. The blinds were $25/$50 + a $50 big blind ante.

The hand got underway from Ju ($23.3k) who raised it up to $200 from the +1 with 108. Armenian Mike ($4.8k) was the only customer who made the call from the small blind with a respectable pocket pair 88.

After a flop of 5K8 Mike was an overwhelming favorite having flopped a set of Eights. Having been checked to, the pre-flop aggressor Ju put out a C-bet off $225 having flopped middle pair. With the board being relatively wet, Mike had no intention of slow-playing his set. He chucked out a min-raise to $450. With a fantastic price to see the turn, Ju made the call and the pair went to the turn with $1.4k in the middle. It’s worth noting that once Ju made the call, Armenian shook his head, trying to give off a Live-tell that he was unhappy with the call.

Ju Has a Glimmer of Hope

The turn Potentially spelled a lot of trouble for Ju once the 10 was revealed, giving him now two pair. Although he did not know it, he was drawing to just two outs. Just like he had done initially Mike checked it over. Ju in position opted to bet out his two pairs with a sizable bet of $1,000. The bet was matched, and going to the river there was now $3.4k in play.
