Can Airball Fold the Third Nut-Flush on a Paired Board

Can Airball Fold the Third Nut-Flush on a Paired Board: Last night on The Poker At The Lodge Stream we saw a No-Limit Hold’em game spread with blinds of $200/$400. In hand number 30, KBM open raises pocket 4’s to $2,000 under the gun. The action folded around to Nik Airball in the straddle position and he looked down at pocket Queens. Nik proceeds to 3-bet to $12,000 and KBM called in position, bloating the pot to $29,400 including the dead-money.

They went to the flop and saw K♣️ 9♠️ 4♠️. Nik proceeded to lead, with effectively the second pair, at the pot with a 20% pot bet of $6,000. KBM slow-playing his set of fours, just called, bringing the pot to a total of $41,400. The turn came down K♠️, putting the three-flush on the board. Nik then held the second pair to the board including the second-nuts flush draw with his Queen of Spades. Nik decides to check to KBM in position. KBM, seemingly scared of the third spade, decided to check his set behind.

Can Airball Fold – The River

The river came down 2♠️, putting a four-flush on the board. Nik then held the third-nut flush with his Q♠️ and led the river with a bet of $28,000. The action was then over to KBM who was sitting with a full-house and having been barrelled into, contemplated his options and then raised to $85,000 leaving $57,000 for Nik to call.  The pot that already had $154,400 in it. Nik considered his options, finally deciding, probably because he was getting three to one, to call the $57,000, this brought the total pot to $211,400 which was pushed to KBM.
